LL Jackpot Wires Up Green Acres Foes

LL Jackpot had the lead at every call and drew off to a three and a quarter length victory in Saturday’s $25,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes – Green Acres Final for two-year-old pacing fillies at Freehold Raceway.

Jim Marshall III guided the daughter of Philos Hanover–Wygant Rose to victory over Queenofthedreams [If I Can Dream]. It was four and a half lengths to On Top Ofthe Rock [Rocknroll Hanover] in third. The mile was timed in 2:01.4.

LL Jackpot [$6.80] has finished in-the-money in five of nine starts, including three wins. She has banked $39,310 for trainer Ivan Llopez of Millstone Township, NJ, who is the co-owner and co-breeder with Louis T. Ferdinandi of Clark, NJ.

Prior to the betting card, a pair of sons of Rocknroll Hanover won $7,000 third leg divisions of the Green Acres.

In the two-year-old split, Dontcallmefrancis was a length and a quarter winner over Lissilas [Rocknroll Hanover] and Perchance To Dream [If I Can Dream] was third by a length and a half.

Driven by Joe Hanney and trained by Richard ‘Nifty’ Norman, Dontcallmefrancis paced the mile in 1:58.3. The gelding races in the name of the Enzed Racing Stable of Allentown, NJ and has two wins, two seconds and one third in six starts for earnings of $22,958. He was bred by Stephen P. Dey III.

Edward Teach, driven by Joe Bongiorno and trained by Ron Burke, won the three-year-old event by a half-length over Rock Of The Ages [Rocknroll Hanover]. Devils Cut [Western Ideal] was third by a length.

Dale Towle of Leamington, Ontario owns Edward Teach, who was bred by Perretti Farms. This year the colt has four wins, two second and two thirds from 18 starts, banking $41,090 toward a career total of $68,340.
