Trotting stallion Il Sogno Dream will have a new base of operations for the 2024 breeding season.

Il Sogno Dream 2,1:55.4f; 3,1:53.2f; 4,1:50.2 ($1,220,649), son of the great Cantab Hall, will be standing stud in Ohio at Bear Creek Stables for the 2024 breeding season.

Il Sogno Dream is the co-fastest progeny of Cantab Hall standing stud in North America (tied with Father Patrick, 1:50.2). His notable achievements include a track record at Woodbine Racetrack and being the fastest North American trotter in 2015 courtesy of his career-best 1:50.2 victory in the Allerage at The Red Mile. During his career, he also won the Dayton Trotting Derby, Currier & Ives, Circle City and multiple Pennsylvania Sire Stakes divisions. He was also stakes-placed in the Kentucky Futurity, Goodtimes, Carl Erskine, Charlie Hill Memorial and Old Oaken Bucket.

“Il Sogno Dream was the most gifted and natural colt I ever worked with," said trainer Chris Beaver. "Never saw him tired! Took his mark at the Red Mile barefoot. When he was in top form, he beat the very best in his division.”

“Il Sogno Dream was a very tough horse who did not need a trip to win,” noted driver Scott Zeron.

Ill Sogno Dream's first dam, Le Reve, was a stakes winner in both Italy and North America. His second dam, Catch Fortuna, is a full sister to the legendary Moni Maker, who earned more than $5.5 million during her career.

As a sire, Il Sogno Dream has produced 41 starters from 75 race eligible offspring with total progeny earnings over $2.1 million. He is the sire of eight $100,000+ winners and five in 1:55 or faster, including a pair of Ontario Sires Stakes winners, Myretirementdream and I DA Princess. Myretirementdream is a 2023 two-year-old winner of multiple divisions of the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series and an earner of more than $163,000. I DA Princess, who has career earnings exceeding $211,000, won two Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots divisions as a three-year-old in 2021, placed second in two legs and recorded a third-place finish in the final.

Il Sogno Dream will stand his first year in Ohio for a stud fee of $2,500 USD after a successful stint in Canada.
