Racing Participant Facing Charges

News broke on Tuesday that a horse racing participant in New York State has been charged with 170 counts each of both computer trespass and tampering with a sports contest.

According to an article by FOX News, law enforcement has alleged that former jockey agent Manuel ‘Mike’ Gonzalez, of Oceanport, New Jersey illegally accessed New York Racing Association computers 170 times over a 15-month period.

The article states that Gonzalez was able to obtain information about track conditions, horses that were in need of jockeys, and the health statuses of racehorses.

The article explains that Gonzalez could face up to four years in prison if he is convicted.
