Harness racing returned to Century Downs Racetrack & Casino on Sunday (Jan. 26) for the first card of the 2020 race meet.

A nine-race card opened the meet with the featured race on the afternoon being a $6,300 conditioned pace. Take On Da Boys ($14.40), driven by Dave Kelly, ground first over to win the feature by one-and-a-quarter lengths in a 1:55.4 mile. The victory came in the middle of a natural hat trick for Kelly as he visited the winner's circle in the final three races on the card.

Driver James Junquist also collected a driving hat trick on the card, sweeping the early double in the process. Shelly Arsenault and Rod Starkewski led trainers with two victories each on the card.

With the opener in the books, racing returns to Century Downs on Sunday (Feb. 2) then goes on hiatus until March with racing every Sunday. Century Downs will add Saturdays to the schedule in April and run mostly on a Saturday-Sunday schedule (with a few Wednesdays in June and July) through Aug. 16.
