Adorabella will look to return to winning ways on Saturday (Jan. 21) at MGM Northfield Park in the $18,000 Filly and Mare Open.

An earner of $153,725 in 2022, Adorabella turned heads in her six-year-old season, winning 12 of 34 starts and being no worse than third in 24 of those starts.

Since shipping to MGM Northfield Park at the end of 2020, Adorabella has made a name for herself among some of the top open mares in Northeast Ohio. The daughter of Pet Rock hit a couple of roadblocks in the middle of 2021, but it all came together for trainer Sam Schillaci at the end of the year, where she reeled off six victories against Open company and set her career mark of 1:51.2 on November 13.

"Last year, she (Adorabella) exceeded all of our expectations," said Schillaci. "We never expected her to turn out to be the horse she was; it was a pleasant surprise."

Piloted by regular driver Hunter Myers for owner Vincent Costa Jr., Adorabella draws the rail in Saturday's event against five other talented mares. Watiforever N (Aaron Merriman), who will start from the outside, has won five of her last six starts, three of which have been against Open company.

Looking to upend Adorabella and Waitforever N on Saturday will be Rock Me Cristal (Ryan Stahl), Diamondtequilashot (Billy Davis Jr.), Asante Sana A (Jason Thompson), and Mystical Virgin (Kurt Sugg).

Live racing on Saturday night kicks off at 6:00 p.m. featuring a $10,000 guaranteed Super High-5 in Race 13. Free program pages for the wager are available here.
