Round two of the Super Bowl Series was contested Thursday evening at The Meadowlands, and Time To Quit kept an impressive winning streak alive thanks to a narrow victory in the first of two divisions.

Starting from Post 12 in the dozen-horse affair, Time To Quit got away third for driver Yannick Gingras before brushing to the front shortly past the quarter pole. Once in charge he laid down middle panels of :56 and 1:25 while feeling parked out pressure from the odds-on favourite, Cajole Hanover. Their battle continued right to the finish line, with Time To Quit coming out a nose the best in 1:55.1. Cajole Hanover was a dead game second, with J Cs Jake taking home third prize.

Ron Burke trains the four-year-old son of Chocolatier-Lovable Truth for Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Phillip Collura. It was the fourth straight score for the gelding, and his third in as many tries for his current connections. His share of the $12,500 purse bumped his bankroll to just over $30,000.

Clementine Dream failed to hit the board in last week’s opening leg of the series, but she bounced back in a big way in tonight’s second-leg assignment. After sitting fourth for the first half of the contest, Scott Zeron tipped the Mark Harder pupil to the outside to catch cover on the way to the three-quarter pole. She then used a :28.1 closing quarter to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Sixteen Mikes in 1:55.2. Cocotier rounded out the top three finishers.

Racing Team Of America of Vermont and Brian Paquet of Quebec share ownership on the four-year-old daughter of Infinitif-Catch Fortuna who won for the first time this season and for the third time in her career. She’s managed to stash away $21,075 to date.

The $46,500 final of the Super Bowl goes Wednesday, January 22.
