Dr. Jon Ellis will be presented the 2022 Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association Special Service to Harness Racing Award at the assocation's annual awards banquet on Saturday, Jan. 14.
Dr. Ellis is co-founder of Veterinary Associates in Xenia, Ohio. Ellis graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1966 and has practiced in Greene County his entire career. Beyond serving the pet and food animal population, Ellis works primarily with Standardbred racehorses. He can often still be found performing duties at the southern Ohio raceways.
Ellis considers every day he gets to practice a gift and is an inspiration to all that know him. He is dedicated to serving his community through animal care. Ellis has said he doesn’t know a day of work as this is his passion.
