For the third time in five years, Ohio's defending Two-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year has stepped up to repeat as a sophomore.

In 2023, McSeaside followed the path of Sea Silk (2022) and Queen Of The Pride (2019) to be named Ohio’s Three-Year-Old Pacing Filly of the Year.

McSeaside started her three-year-old campaign by winning the James Hackett Memorial. She added wins in four legs of the Ohio Sires Stakes, the finals of the Ohio State Fair Stakes and the Ohio Breeders Championship.

“Absolutely one of the nicest horses; truly a pleasure to train,” said trainer Ron Burke.

McSeaside started in 20 races, winning seven and adding two second and two third-place finishes. She earned just shy of $300,000 in 2023.

McSeaside was owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC, Beasty LLC, J&T Silva Stables LLC and Knox Services Inc.

She was sold at the end of last year back to Sergent Stables, which had partnered with Andray Farm to produce the Downbytheseaside filly.

McSeaside will be honoured at the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association Annual Awards Banquet on Jan. 13, 2024 at the Mariott Columbus OSU in Columbus, Ohio.  Tickets to the banquet are $30 each and can be purchased by calling the association's office at 614-221-3650.

The 2023 Ohio Horse of the Year will be announced at the annual awards banquet.
