Connections Reflect On Betting Line

"He won 14 out of 15 races; that's hard to do at any level of racing let alone to do it at the top level of racing so I think his consistency and grit in gunning down the stretch, even when sometimes he was many lengths out of it turning for home, are his greatest contribution [to Canadian harness racing]. I think he represented the Ontario breed well, obviously in the United States as well."

Trot Insider caught up with some of Betting Line's connections after the son of Bettors Delight was named Canada's Three-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year and Horse of the Year at the 2016 O'Brien Awards Black Tie Gala on Saturday, January 28 in Mississauga, Ont.

Betting Line was almost perfect in 2016, finishing the season with 14 wins and a second in 15 races to go along with almost $1.7 million in earnings. His victories included the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup, Little Brown Jug, Battle of the Brandywine, Carl Milstein Memorial, Simcoe Stakes, Somebeachsomewhere Stakes and a sweep of all of his Ontario Sires Stakes races, including the Super Final.
