Solid Handle For Red Mile Machines

Last month (October), wagering on the historical horse racing machines at the Red Mile in Lexington, Kentucky was up 51 per cent compared to the same month as last year.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, the Red Mile machines took in roughly $72 million in wagers during October. The $72 million figure is the amount the machines took in before their payouts to winners.

Overall, the State of Kentucky has handled $2.02 billion in wagers since the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission approved the machines. The machines have generated $30.3 million in tax revenue, including $8.4 million for the general fund.
