The youngest gun in the running for the 2009 National Driving Championship crown is none other than

Orwell, PEI's Marc Campbell.

This 24-year-old harness racing fan has been driving since the age of 19 and has recorded over 330 career wins to date.

Sporting green, black and white colours, Campbell has already accomplished several goals he set for himself on the racetrack, including starting in the Gold Cup and Saucer in his home province. Campbell is a family man who has a supportive wife Natasha, a young son Landon and another baby set to debut in May.

Here is an inside look at this young driver ready to take part in the National Driving Championship:

Favourite Horse of all Time – Big Time Marc, my very first horse to train and through him I actually started to learn about the racing game.
Favourite Movie – Braveheart
Favourite Actor – John Wayne
Favourite Racetrack – Summerside Raceway
Superstitions – I only use black whips when I’m driving
Career Goals – Be the best trainer and driver I can be and to always keep in mind the well being of the horse.

Campbell will be looking to make his mark in the harness racing community and the NDC would be a great feather in his cap.

The Maritimes has a habit of producing many of the top notch harness drivers this sport has seen; perhaps Campbell is another diamond in the rough.
