'Heston' Returns To Philly A Winner
Four-year-old pacer Heston Blue Chip returned to Harrah's Philadelphia where he last won in mid-August and defeated a field of eight -- again from the outside post position -- on Friday afternoon in the $30,000 Winners Over Handicap feature.
Tim Tetrick hustled 1-5 favourite Heston Blue Chip to the lead in the 11th race and carved out fractions of :27.1, :55.1 and 1:23.3 en route to a four and a half length victory in 1:51.3 over a 'good' surface. Stonehouse Adam (Tony Morgan) and Simons Artist (Victor Kirby) were second and third, respectively.
After winning divisional honours in the U.S. as a sophomore, Heston Blue Chip has compiled a seasonal record reading 5-3-3 in 15 starts, including a third-place finish in the Bobby Quillen Memorial.
Now a 30-time winner, the son of American Ideal has amassed over $1.5 million purse earnings for owner Kenneth Jacobs of Baldwinsville, New York.
