Brett MacDonald steered Power And Grace to a gate-to-wire victory in the $13,000 Preferred Trot at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday evening (March 7).

Power And Grace powered out of the gate from post position four and to the front with a 1-1/2-length advantage on the field. The popular mare maintained a 1-1/2-length lead through the opening quarter in :29, half in 1:00 and three-quarters in 1:29 before crossing the wire in 1:59.2, 1-3/4 lengths over O Narutac Perfetto (Scott Coulter). Eyes Of Justice (Tyler Borth) was third.

Power And Grace is an eight-year-old daughter of Holiday Road and the Muscle Mass mare Mark Of Honour. Ronald MacDonald trains the winner of 47 races and $410,274 in career earnings for owner Hartel Maintenance Inc and Lormer McClure of Guelph, Ont. She paid $3.40 to win.
