Andy Over

The Raceway at the Western Fair District featured a $13,000 Preferred Trot in the nightcap on Tuesday (Jan. 24) evening and Andy Over cruised from wire-to-wire.

Andy Over was also-eligible at the time of the draw, but drew in after a scratch by Scene A Magician in post two. As the gate swung, Esquire (Tyler Borth) charged for the top, but accepted the pocket trip after Andy Over (Ed Hensley) took control. Andy Over passed the opening panel in :28.2. Off at 7-2, Hensley kept Andy Over with about a two-length lead over the field as they reached the half in :58.4 and three-quarters in 1:28.2. Around the final turn, it was a race for second money as Andy Over maintained his lead. Across the wire, Andy Over won in 1:58.1 by two lengths over Esquire, who held on for second, and Jayport Hi Class (Greg Dustin), who took third.

Co-owned by Ed and Ashleigh Hensley, Andy Over is a six-year-old gelding trained by Ashleigh Hensley. The son of Andovers Son has banked $162,883 in career earnings with 23 trips to the winner's circle.
