Crosscut Captures Flamboro Feature

Winter racing at Flamboro Downs

With fog rolling unto Ontario on Thursday night (Jan. 19), the $10,000 feature pace kicked off the 10-race card under mild visibility with Crosscut emerging victorious.

The first quarter clicked in :27.2, and when the field returned to sight Uncontrollable led Gringo Star towards a :56.4 half. Driver Scott Coulter had Crosscut positioned fifth moving back into the haze, and through three-quarters in 1:25.2 he then surged towards the lead. Crosscut crossed the beam a half-length better than Yourtheone in second with Pink Floyd Hanover third and Uncontrollable fourth. The time of the mile was 1:56.1.

Anthony Beaton trains Crosscut, a seven-year-old McArdle gelding, for owner S S G Stables. He won his 19th race from 105 starts and has now earned $151,505. He paid $15.90 to win.
