Frank Hincks Passes

In loving memory of Frank Hincks

Longtime horseman Francis 'Frank' Charles Hincks of Long Sault, formerly of Winona and Smithville, Ont., passed away suddenly on Dec. 21, 2022 in Nova Scotia. He was 80 years old.

Frank was a high school teacher at Bishop Ryan High School in Hamilton, Ont. for many years. He also loved training and racing Standardbred horses from his previous farm near Smithville, Ont.

Predeceased by his parents Francis and Bertha Hincks and Uncle Vic Gower of Winona, Ont. Predeceased beloved high school sweetheart and husband of Janet Hincks for 59 wonderful years. Loving father of Frank D. Hincks (Andrea Bailey) of Long Sault and Jennifer Schurr (Gord Littke) of Lunenburg, N.S. Predeceased by an infant son Peter. Frank was an amazing Grandpa for Stephanie Armstrong (Mike), Danny Hincks (Irina), Katie Van Der Gulik (Nate) and Matthew Schurr (Kylie). Loving great-grandfather of Annalise, Wesley and Thomas Hincks. Dear brother of Ron Hincks (Irma) of Callander, Ont. Predeceased brother of John Hincks (Carol), David Hincks (Lynda) and Dennis Hincks (Delores). Frank will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

A celebration of life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion, 12 King St. E., Stoney Creek, Ont. (905-662-4171) on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. The family has chosen this date because it would have been Frank and Jan’s 60th wedding anniversary.
