Power And Grace Powers To Preferred Win

After celebrating a confidence-building score versus easier to kick off the month of October, Power And Grace moved back up the Preferred ranks and was a handy winner in Monday’s main event at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

In rein to Brett MacDonald, Power And Grace was second and parked by Sicario at the quarter pole in :28.1, but she eventually muscled her way to the top in the $13,000 affair.

Once on the lead, the Ron MacDonald pupil chopped out middle splits of :58.4 and 1:28.3 before scooting home in :30 to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Charmbo Prince in 1:58.3.  Taking home the show dough was Jayport Hi Class.

Sent off as the 2-5 favourite, the seven-year-old daughter of Holiday Road-Mark Of Honour improved her seasonal record to 8-4-5 from 26 starts with the win.  The 41-time winner, who is owned by Hartel Maintenance Inc and Lormer McClure, has banked $355,894 to date.
