Georgia Gov. Against Gaming Expansion

It has been reported that Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has told individuals looking to get pari-mutuel wagering legalized in the state that he will not support gaming expansion

According to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Gov. Deal recently told former Breeders' Cup Board Chairman Bill Farish and Keeneland Association President and CEO Nick Nicholson that "he wouldn’t support any effort to expand gambling in Georgia."

The article explains that the meeting was arranged by State Representative Harry Geisinger, who currently has bipartisan backing for a resolution which would allow a public vote on amending the state constitution to allow pari-mutuel wagering.
