Flamboro Preferred To Avatartist

Avatartist closed out Sunday night's harness racing program at Flamboro Downs, winning the $8,500 Preferred 3 Pace with Jason Ryan catch-driving.

Senior Market retook the lead from Big Yellow past the quarter mark in the 12th race featured finale then Avatartist, away fourth from a trailing tier start, went on the attack and dueled past him on the way to three-quarters in 1:26.2. The Matt Dupuis trainee pulled away in the final turn and won by two and a half lengths in 1:55 flat. Senior Market held for second with the favoured Ufdragons Rocket coming on for third ahead of Big Yellow.

A 19-time career winner with earnings just shy of the $300,000 mark, Avatartist is owned by by William Hill, Peter Harrison, Mike Saftic and James Walker. The eight-year-old Rocknroll Hanover gelding returned $10.30 to win as the 4-1 third choice on the toteboard.
