Harness Racing's Best of the Decade (2010 - 2019) - Trainer

Harness Racing's Trainer of the Decade (2010-2019)

Ron Burke has been a force the last ten years, achieving success levels never reached in the sport.

Since 2009, Burke has topped the training standings in North America for wins and earnings. Three times his stable topped the 1,000 win plateau (2013, 2014 and 2018) and for the past seven years Burke's brigade has banked more than $20 million.

The numbers for harness racing's all-time leading trainer for earnings ($236 million) and wins (10,479) are all the more impressive given that his first full-time season in the sport came in 2009.

With nearly every major race captured over the last decade (a DQ short of a Hambletonian title with What The Hill), Burke boasts a list of stars that could fill this page. Standouts include Racehorse of the Decade Foiled Again ($7,676,047), 2017 Horse of the Year in Canada and the U.S. Hannelore Hanover ($3,303,952) and fellow triple millionaires Sweet Lou ($3,484,251) and All Bets Off ($3,186,658).

What They Said About Ron Burke:

"What he has accomplished will never be matched." - Roger Huston, U.S. Harness Racing Hall of Famer

"Posted numbers in the decade that will never be broken." - Gordon Waterstone, Associate Editor, Horseman Publishing Co.

"So consistent every year. Young horses, aged horses, trotters, pacers, mares, studs/geldings, stake races, overnight races, you name it, he's dominated them." - Mark Weaver, Co-owner of the Decade (2010-2019)
