Randy McTavish Passes

After a brave and courageous battle with cancer, standardbred owner Randy Steven McTavish passed away at the age of 50 at Louise Marshall Hospital in Mt. Forest, Ont. surrounded by his loving family

He will be dearly missed by his wife Mary McTavish of Moorefield, mother Joan McTavish of Moorefield, son Steven McTavish and his wife Brittany of Mt. Forest, daughter Heather McTavish and her husband Carl Dentoom of Mt. Forest, mother-in-law Berta Poljanski of Moorefield. Also by his grandchildren Owen, Hailynn, Shyanne and Hunter. Sadly missed by aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his father Jack McTavish, brothers Rick, Lee and Larry McTavish and his grandparents Ruby and Morris Scarrow.

The family will receive friends at the Crawford Funeral Home 243 George St., Arthur on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. in the Crawford Chapel. Interment of cremated remains in Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur to follow. In lieu of flowers remembrances to the Oncology Unit, Louise Marshall Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mary> So sad to hear the news. I had run into Randy quite often At Grand River this summer when he was training his colts. I wondered why I hadn't seen him lately. He always said he was doing ok. I know what you are feeling right now but all I can say is take care of yourself and rememember the good ole days at Orangeville. There were many good times and he was part of them.
