Post Time Changes For Delaware Fair

A total of 14 races, including six divisions of the Ohio Breeders Championships, will go postward on Monday, September 21 at the Delaware County Fair at a special post time of 3:00 p.m.

A total of 28 freshmen colt pacers will line up in the $121,384 (div.) Ohio Breeders Championships.

Ohio Sires Stakes champion Love Tap Hanover will leave from the outside post seven in the fourth and final $30,346 division. The Big Bad John colt has earned more than $166,000 for his owners Rick Phillips, Peter Venturini and Mark Harder. He is trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. and will be driven by David Miller.

Morgan will also be sending out the favourite in the third division, Primo Giovanni. Carl Howard owns the colt, who has won all but one of his seven seasonal starts.

The state’s best three-year-old filly trotters will go in two divisions of the $78,790 (div.) Ohio Breeders Championships.

Potential “Ohio Horse of the Year” Like Old Times is the headliner in the second $39,395 division. Don McKirgan trains and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. drives the Chip Chip Hooray filly for Keith Ross. Like Old Times has won 11 of 14 starts this season and her lifetime earnings are $305,117.

To celebrate the later post time, fair officials have introduced a number of food and drink specials available in the grandstand, including $1.00 Budweiser and Bud Light. Second chance drawings will also be conducted for televisions, betting vouchers, rides in the starting gate and t-shirts.

Delaware County Fair race officials have also moved the post time for Jugette Day (Wednesday, September 23) back to 12:00 noon.

Wednesday will feature 17 races, including the $252,250 Jugette.
