When Standardbred Canada’s I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club launched in June 2011, San Pail, one of the original Faces of Racing, and the only four-legged member of the Faces of Racing stable, was a driving force in engaging racing fans in the Fan Club.

The Fan Club followed San Pail’s career closely. Many of the members joined in Pail’s winner’s circle celebrations for the 2011 Maple Leaf Trot and Breeders Crown. San Pail was featured in a special Fan Club poster, custom buttons were made and given out, and his photo was featured in the Heart of Harness Racing Calendar. He was the Fan Club’s poster horse!

With the announcement of San Pail’s retirement, it’s only fitting that 'Pail' should be commemorated by The Fan Club.

The Fan Club will be on track at Mohawk this Saturday night to assist with the tribute to Pail and will be giving out a special souvenir poster of San Pail to the first 200 people who stop by the Fan Club booth.

The 16” x 20” poster is a special mosaic using a beautiful candid shot of San Pail taken by Brian Acton of Woodstock, Ontario, and featured on the Sept. 2009 issue of TROT Magazine.

Andrea Bertucci, Graphic Artist for Standardbred Canada’s Industry Marketing department, took Acton’s iconic image and transformed it into a beautiful mosaic, integrating thumbnail images of San Pail's incomparable career including his Maple Leaf Trot victories, Breeders Crown victory, winner’s circle presentations, O’Brien Award presentations, candid shots of Pail and more into the landscape of San Pail’s body. The poster is suitable for framing or plaque mounting.

Photographs included were taken by a range of photographers including Clive Cohen, Dave Landry, Brian Acton, Iron Horse Photo, and Linnea Burgess.

Posters will also be available at Kawartha Downs on October 17 and a limited number of posters will be available for purchase via the Fan Club’s e-store.
