Blue Chip Happy With Goshen Sale

On the heels of the first-ever Goshen Yearling Sale, Blue Chip Farms (agent for Blue Chip Bloodstock) led the auction in two important categories – highest combined farm owned and agent average and the auction’s top two sales toppers.

Outkast Blue Chip, a Rock N Roll Heaven colt out of Armbro Savannah went for $67,000 to Joe Bellino, while Obsessed Blue Chip, a Chapter Seven filly from Gluteus Maximus was signed for by Eugene Kurzrok for $47,000. These top priced yearlings helped Blue Chip tally the highest combined farm owned and agent average of $22,500 per yearling.

“I am very happy with the results of the inaugural GYS. It confirmed my suspicion that if you brought the right yearlings they would get bought for the right price by the right trainers and owners,” Tom Grossman, principal of Blue Chip, said. “The timing, location and general efficiency of the sale will be a solid foundation in the future to help all breeders, big and small, see the payoff of the daily grind.”

Grossman also stated that, “nothing would make me happier than to give a $100,000 yearling credit via the Blue Chip Breeders Crown Challenge to one of the 11 buyers who signed for a BC bred. “

Blue Chip will have a total of 14 yearlings on display at the Lexington Selected Sale including seven yearlings that are eligible for the Blue Chip $100,000 Breeders Crown Challenge.
