Due to insufficient entries for the track’s Thursday (September 14) program of racing, Vernon Downs management has been forced to cancel the program.
Races from Thursday that filled or were somewhat close to filling have been added to the condition sheet for the double draw on Tuesday (September 12) for Friday (September 15) and Saturday (September 16). Some classes were already written again for the double draw.
“With the New York Sire Stakes having a race for each division in the next 11 days, and several barns having sickness issues, it created a shortage in the entry box, again,” said the track’s vice-president of racing operations, Jason Settlemoir.
All horses from the Thursday draw have been re-entered. If you wish to not race on Friday or Saturday, please contact the race office prior to 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
