Final 3R Wednesday Card Of 2015

Published: September 1, 2015 11:56 am EDT

Hippodrome 3R’s Wednesday, September 2 program will be the final live Wednesday card of the season at the half-mile oval. After Wednesday, live racing will only be on Sundays, which will feature first-race post time at 1:30 p.m.

The feature on Hippodrome 3R’s Wednesday’s card has been slotted as Race 4, a trotting event that will showcase three mares and one colt taking on older horses.

The feature will be a slugfest between Aworthy Bi (to be driven by Francis Picard) and Kim Sorel (Martin Gingras). Aworthy Bi, who will start from Post 5, was a game second in his last start for owner/trainer Elisabeth Carrier. The gelded son of Equinox Bi has won twice in this class this summer, the fastest of which was clocked in 2:01.1.

Kim Sorel will start from Post 4. She won this class two starts ago in 2:01.4. Other contenders in the field include Sexy P V, Force Naturelle and Dance Hall George.

The drawing of post positions for the Quebec-Bred Series Finals will take place Thursday at the Hippodrome 3R for Sunday’s race program, which will be the richest day of horse racing in Quebec in 2015.

There will be eight finales for two and three-year-old trotting and pacing colts and fillies.

Trainer Dany Fontaine has a record seven horses racing in the finals and all of them have an excellent chance of winning. His top contenders include Mr Mach Jimmy, Miss Babe Delight, KFB Amigo Cool, Tuscans Memory, Holiday Party, National Trace and Mach On The Beach, all of whom, except Holiday Party, have won at least one of the three elimination divisions.

Other major contenders in the finals include Wildwild Men, Seeyou Men, Sugarsam, Meganou, Sagawi, Voodoo Charm, HP Sissy, Pudong Phil, Big Bertha and Wanda Bayama. These are just a few of the top colts and fillies that will be competing.
