Freshmen Set To Flood Tioga

Freshman pacers and trotters take center stage at Tioga Downs on Friday in the Geers Stake and Arthur Tompkin Memorial races.

The Geers Stakes featuring two divisions of two-year-old pacing fillies as well as their counterpart colts and geldings.

The morning line favourite in the first division of the Geers Stake ($29,500) for pacing fillies is Simone (American Ideal-Ritascape) at 6-5. She is trained and driven by Homer Hochstetler.

The top choice in the second division ($30.000) for pacing fillies is the Mark Harder trained entry of Crazy Cute (Art Major-Crazy Luv) and Money Shot Hanover (Art Major-Marinade). Andy Miller drives Crazy Cute and Tyler Buter drives Money Shot Hanover.

In the first division of the Geers Stake ($25,200) for freshman pacing colts and geldings, Goldberg (Mr Wiggles-Chausettes Blanche) is the morning line choice at 2-1. He is trained by Brenda Teague and driven by Montrell Teague.

In the second division ($25,200) for pacing colts and geldings, the morning line favourite is the Nik Drennan entry of Rockme Rollme (Rocknroll Dance-Promysquous Lady) and Onemilebridge (American Ideal-Aria J) at 2-1. Dave Miller drives Rockme Rollme. Onemilebridge is driven by Andy Miller.

The Arthur Tompkins Memorial races features two divisions of two-year-old trotting fillies and two-year-old trotting colts and geldings.

Golden Tricks (Trixton-Golden Goose) is the morning line favourite in the first division ($28,750) of the trotting fillies at 8-5. She is trained and driven by Ake Svanstedt.

In the second division ($29,250) for trotting fillies the morning line favourite is Big Weezy (Trixton-Keepsake Hanover) at 2-1. Big Weezy is trained by Richard ‘Nifty’ Norman and driven by David Miller.

The morning line favourite for the first division ($28,650) of the Arthur Tompkins Memorial for colts and geldings is Chapter Fashion (Chapter Seven-New Hampshire Girl) at 9-5. He is trained by Jim Campbell and driven by Tim Tetrick.

In the second division ($29,150) for colts and gelding the 5-2 morning line favourite is Brady Bunch (Muscle Mass-Miss Fidget). Brady Bunch is trained by Erv Miller and driven by Marcus Miller.

The 13-race card at Tioga Downs on Friday starts at 6:15 p.m.
