Georges Groulx Sr. Passes

Trot Insider has learned that horseman Georges Groulx Sr. has passed away at the age of 82.

Groulx Sr. passed away on Monday, August 29.

Georges is the father in law of Kim Bonas, Standardbred Canada’s field representative at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

Groulx Sr. was a well-known and respected horseman. One his most well known horses was Cabonga Saunders, who raced decades ago and recorded 34 wins and just under $97,000 in purses.

Trot Insider has also learned that there will be no visitation or funeral, as Groulx Sr. graciously donated his body to the University of Ottawa for Parkinson’s research.
