Meadows To Take Break In October

Published: August 27, 2015 11:10 am EDT

Officials with the Meadows have announced that the track will take a break from live racing from October 12 to October 29.

The break will enable the Meadows to prepare for winter racing. The Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission has approved the schedule modification.

The last program before the break is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, when the track hosts the Pennsylvania Fairs Championships. Opening weekend of the fall-winter meeting will include a live card on Friday, October 30, which will hold a first-race post time of 12:55 p.m. There will also be an added live program on Saturday, October 31, which will complement the Meadows’ simulcast of the Breeders’ Cup for Thoroughbreds. Live racing on Breeders’ Cup day will begin at 11:25 a.m.

The track and its Harmar off-track facility will remain open for simulcast viewing and wagering throughout the hiatus.
