Old Home Week is here and gone, but racing will return to Red Shores' Charlottetown Driving Park Thursday evening with a 7:00 p.m. first-race post time.

The card has 12 dashes on tap with the $2,000 feature slated as the finale.

Astronomical Union has drawn the rail for driver Marc Campbell, trainer Kevin MacLean and owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford. The Astronomical four-year-old was a winner in 1:55.2 two starts ago, but will face off with Artners In Crime (to be driven by Ron Matheson) from Post 5 after scoring a 1:55.3 win in his last outing. The red-hot Machinthesand (Walter Cheverie) has Post 8 and boasts three wins and a second from his last four starts. Other entries are Roscoes Child (Brodie MacPhee), Block Party (Gilles Barrieau), Camcun (Kenny Arsenault), Donna Conda (Mike McGuigan) and IDK (Vincent Poulton).

The evening back-up class has been carded as Race 7 with King Of Rock picked to win for driver Campbell, trainer Darren Trainor and owners Barry, Kevin and Trevor Doyle of Earnescliffe. Other top entries include Artist List (Garry MacDonald), Rivervue Jameen (Barrieau) and Every Day (Brian Andrew).

The evening trot class will line up in Race 3 for a purse of $1,100 with BJ Eldorado favoured from Post 5 for driver Arsenault, trainer Bert Honkoop and owner Robert Honkoop of Souris. The six-year-old son of Meadowagogo will face challenges from stablemate BJ High Meadow (Bert Honkoop) and Dunmore Alpha (Steven Shepherd).

Live racing continues Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. in Charlottetown, and 1:00 p.m. at Red Shores' Summerside Raceway featuring the Joe O’Brien stakes for two-year-old colt pacers and the Lady Slipper stakes for two-year-old filly pacers.
