Meadows Dark For Two Weeks

Published: August 16, 2013 11:07 am EDT

Following its Friday, August 16 card, the Meadows will be dark for just over two weeks to allow for track maintenance and refurbishing.

The track’s race book will remain open for simulcast viewing and wagering throughout the hiatus.

When the Meadows resumes live racing on Tuesday, September 3, it will introduce a new schedule that features afternoon cards almost exclusively. Generally, the track will race each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, with first post at 12:55 p.m.

For the balance of 2013, only two evening programs are scheduled: Friday, September 13, when the Meadows hosts Pennsylvania Sires Stakes championships and consolations for each three-year-old division, and Saturday, October 5, when the Meadows again will serve as the site for all eight Pennsylvania Fairs championships. First-race post time for those cards is 6:55 p.m.

A special note about the Friday, August 16 card --- since it’s the final program of the current meeting, the Pick 5, Pick 4 and last Superfecta on the card all are 'must-pays.'

First post for Friday's card is 6:55 p.m.
