Future wagering on the Little Brown Jug will be offered twice leading up to the 66th renewal of the three-year-old pacing classic at the Delaware County Fair. Each future wager will be for a period of four days

.

Wagers will be accepted at racetracks and on internet sites throughout North America and Europe. Fans can also bet on the second future wager at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. The future wager allows fans to bet early on all three-year-olds. The minimum bet is $2.00 and all wagers are for win betting only.

Every three-year-old in North America is included in the Jug Field because if a colt wins the Cane Pace he can be supplemented into the Little Brown Jug. Eliminations for the Cane Pace at Tioga Downs will be Saturday, September 3 and the Cane Pace Final is September 10. Also, any filly that is eligible to the Jugette, can enter the Jug. The Field will also be included in the morning line.

There will be two separate betting pools for the 66th Little Brown Jug in the weeks leading up to the race on September 22. The winner of each pool being determined by the official first-place finisher in the 2011 Little Brown Jug.

The first wagering pool will be from 12 p.m. Thursday, August 25 through 11 p.m. Sunday, August 28. The second future wagering pool will be from 12 p.m. Sunday, September 18 through 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, the first three afternoons of Grand Circuit racing at the Delaware County Fair. All times are Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

A team of harness racing analysts and handicappers will select a group of 23 colts and geldings. Each colt and gelding will be assigned odds based on the selection order. The horses in each of the two future wagering pools will be listed in alphabetical order.

“This is the sixth year our fans at the track will have the opportunity to place wagers at the regular betting windows throughout the fair grounds,” said Phil Terry, general manager and director of marketing. Last year the champion Rock N Roll Heaven paid $8.20 in the first pool and $5.80 in the second pool.

Complete past performance lines for all Jug eligibles will be available free of charge on the Little Brown Jug website.
