Standardbred Canada is pleased to announce that this year’s edition of the Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship, with an estimated grand prize of $25,000, is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 at the Western Fair District in London, Ont.

The 2011 event will mark the fifth consecutive year that Standardbred Canada has co-ordinated the national handicapping initiative.

“Being the host track partner for this national championship fits in well with our strategic vision for Western Fair District, recognizing it as a preferred centre for year-round agricultural, entertainment, education, sports and gaming activities in the Southwestern Ontario region,” commented Western Fair District Racing and Gaming Manager Ian Fleming.

“We look forward to working with the team at SC to ensure the players have a first-class experience and to make this one of the best handicapping championships ever.”

Participants can look forward to luxury accommodation at the nearby Hilton Hotel where they will be hosted by Standardbred Canada for the weekend.

The Trot Canada National Handicapping Championship is a nationwide initiative aimed at fans and horseplayers. During the next four months, racetracks and industry organizations across Canada will hold regional qualifying events.

Dean MacNevin of Charlottetown, PEI, won the $25,000 grand prize for the 2010 TCNHC, which was hosted at Georgian Downs last October.
