The 'I Love Canadian Harness Racing' Fan Club is looking forward to taking part in Grand River Raceway’s biggest card of its 2012 racing season --- Industry Day, on Monday, August 6.

With the 15th annual $300,000 Battle of Waterloo, the fourth annual $150,000 Battle of the Belles, and the $130,000 OSS Gold Final for freshman trotting colts set to hit the Elora oval, this is one stellar day of racing that you don’t want to miss.

The Fan Club will be on site with swag for sale and great prize draws. Get your photo taken with Hall of Famers Goodtimes and Dave Wall between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., sponsored by the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame and the Fan Club, and spin to win one of four great Fan Club prizes. The first 200 members to visit the Fan Club booth will also receive a $1 Quick Pick-4 ticket for the late Pick-4. Not a member? Sign up on-site to get yours too.

Also, stay tuned for the Fan Club’s Industry Day Online Handicapping Contest for your chance to win a great Fan Club prize package.

In addition to a jam-packed racing schedule, fans will be entertained by the Fergus Pipe Band and the compelling broadcast duo of Ken Middleton and Greg Blanchard. There will be cheerleading competitions during the feature races for great cash prizes, collectable Jody Jamieson bobbleheads for the first 200 patrons to redeem their program voucher, OHHA’s Best of Show Competition with $500 in prize money, and the ever-popular Bouncy Pony Stakes!

For younger racing fans, Industry Day offers face painting, balloon artists, bouncy castles, horse crafts & colouring contests, pony rides, and, of course, the Mascot Obstacle Race featuring Trot 4 Kids’ very own Willie Win! To visit Willie’s Blog, click here.

Industry Day festivities begin at 12:30 PM and post time is 1:30 PM.
