The ‘I Love Canadian Harness Racing’ Fan Club has three contests coming to a close in the next week. Time is running out, so get your entries and submissions in.
ZOOM PHOTOGRAPHY CHALLENGE
July’s Zoom Photography Challenge theme is “It’s Post Time.” The fan club is looking for photos that feature racing action. It could be a horse warming up, racing, or in the winner’s circle. The fan club is looking for you to capture the anticipation and the excitement of a horse race.
You can use your camera or your smartphone, but remember that photos should be a minimum of 72 dpi.
Photos are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 25. Email your photos to [email protected].
The fan club’s July winner will receive a great fan club swag prize package ($50 value). The six monthly winners will be eligible to win a grand prize, which will include a $50 gift card to the racetrack of their choice and an enlargement of their winning photo framed or plaque mounted.
FACES OF RACING PROMOTION
Who do you think should be the next ‘Face of Racing’ for the fan club? The fan club is looking for a few new industry members to join its Faces of Racing. The fan club is giving you the lines. The club is leaving it to you to nominate individuals that are positive representatives of the sport we all love.
Nominations are being accepted now via email. Along with the name of the individual, please submit a short paragraph, or a few lines, explaining why this person or horse deserves to be one of our new Faces of Racing.
We are looking for a person that is:

Based in Canada

A trainer or driver
-
Been licensed for at least five (5) years
Or a horse that is:
-
Based in Canada
-
Owned and trained by Canadians
-
At least four years old

MEMORABILIA CONTEST
If you are a person that keeps and collects racing memorabilia, the fan club wants to hear from you. In the fan club’s second July promotion, it is looking for, in 250 words or less, for you to describe the horse racing memorabilia item that means the most to you. If you have a photo of the item, or can take a photo, send that along, too. The fan club wants to hear about the personal connection you have with the item, any anecdotes or unique info or historical significance that the item holds.
The winner of the memorabilia contest will receive a $50 gift card to the racetrack of their choice plus a $50 fan club swag bag.
