A pair of freshman fillies garnered the most attention with impressive performances during the Friday morning (July 13) qualifying session at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Trotting miss Sweet Chapter made a solid debut one week ago, but her performance this time around was much more palatable. After gaining the early lead from post nine and yielding to Grimmie Hanover (Matt Bax), driver Chris Christoforou right-lined Sweet Chapter from the pocket to challenge. Sweet Chapter had more than three lengths on her rivals at the head of the stretch, and widened that margin to five at the wire through a :29.1 final quarter. The time of the mile was 1:59.3.

Blake MacIntosh trains and co-owns Sweet Chapter (Chapter Seven - Moms Sweetie Pie) a $37,000 Harrisburg purchase now co-owned by Hutt Racing Stable, Glenn Bechtel and the Mortgage Boys Stable.

O'Brien Award winning trainer and breeder Bob McIntosh has certainly developed his share of talented homebred horses over the years, and pacing filly Undefiable could join that list of champions if Friday's mile is any indication of her ability. Driver Trevor Henry guided the daughter of Ponder to a lifetime best of 1:56.2 in her Friday morning test, holding off pocket-sitting Southwind Rapunzel (Sylvain Filion) by a length.

Undefiable (Ponder - Breathdefying) is owned by breeders Robert McIntosh Stables Inc., C S X Stables and Dave Boyle. She's a full-sister to two-time KYSS champ Somethinincredible.
