Balmoral Pick-4 Boosts Handle To $1.1 Million

May results of the USTA Strategic Wagering initiative for Balmoral Park are in. Needless to say it is encouraging to see the strong support for the Balmoral Park Pick-4

. Balmoral Park would like to take this opportunity to thank the USTA and the fans of Chicago harness racing for their unwavering loyalty.

In the month of May, nine guaranteed Pick-4 pools were offered, totaling $263,714, for an average of $29,301. Interest was not reserved to the Pick-4 as total handle rose as well. The nine programs handled $9,216,993 for an average of $1,024,110.

Since the initiative was launched in April, the interest in Balmoral Park has increased. Total handle on the Balmoral cards with a Pick-4 guarantee was $17,562,959 for seventeen programs for an average of $1,033,115 per program. During that time period the guaranteed Pick-4 pools have averaged $31,228.

June is off to a great start thanks to a $12,466 Saturday Pick-4 carryover. Wagering on the Sunday, June 5 Pick-4 was $73,862, making the final Pick-4 pool $86,328. Total Sunday handle was $1,124,223, an average of $112,422 per race. Another carryover in the High-5 saw over $50,000 wagered on the Sunday pentafecta. Only one of the ten events handled less than $100,000, which included a 7th race handle of $161,300.

Balmoral Park offers a $15,000 Pick-4 guarantee on Saturday and a $25,000 Pick-4 guarantee on Sunday. The Pick-4 take out is only 15% and the minimum wager is one dollar.
