Running Aces To Kick Off Wednesday

Running Aces has announced that it will be commencing its fifth season of live harness racing on Wednesday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m. in Columbus, Minnesota.

A release by the track outlines that the purses are larger, the promotions are bigger, and live music has been added to the mix.

At 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a professional skydiver from Skydive Forest Lake will be dropping in with an American flag for the opening ceremony.

After the anthem, there will be introductions of some of the top drivers at Running Aces. The first race will head to post at 7:00 p.m. and the track will be giving away $150 in cash every 15 minutes between then and 9:00 p.m.

There is also an opening-day commemorative hanky giveaway with the first 500 programs sold.

Between the races on Wednesday evenings, different local bands will entertain the crowd on the new stage, which overlooks the grass seating and track.

The 2012 race season will feature live racing every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

There will be 10 giveaway days, new events like 'Superhero Night,' and the purses at the track have grown about 16 per cent from the 2011 season.
