Today (June 30) is the last day to enter the $10,000 TheStable.ca Fantasy Stable contest.

Entrants in the contest—which is free of charge—must pick four horses in the The Stable's roster of two-year-olds, plus predict the total purse money won by the entire stable. The stable with the highest purse money by Oct. 28 will win $6,000, with $3,000 to second place and $1,000 to third. All ties will be broken by the total purse number.

Entries will be accepted until midnight on Friday (July 1). Hundreds of entries have poured in from all over the world in the past week, according to TheStable.ca co-founder Anthony MacDonald, who said the contest was devised to attract new interest in horse racing and to show people from all walks of like how exciting and affordable fractional ownership can be.

"We have met many new clients from our contest and most are already signing up for investment at the fall sales," said MacDonald. "In both selling shares in horses and this fantasy stable contest we have proven that investment and interest in our industry is very much real all over the world.

“More than 85 percent of our youngsters are qualified and now we have all these fantasy stable participants watching as well. Our clients are happy and excited, and so are we.”

As the roster of two-year-olds begin their racing careers on the track, MacDonald said that TheStable.ca has some big news coming later in the summer.

“We have huge announcements coming out over the next 10 weeks and we are really excited with what the future holds for TheStable.ca,” he said. “We couldn't have done this without the financial support of Blue Chip Farms, Diamond Creek Farms, Woodbine Entertainment, and the Meadowlands Racetrack. People don't realize how many organizations are working to promote this industry and we here at TheStable.ca appreciate the investment put forward these companies.”
