The standardbred racing office at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino has added several claiming and conditioned races to the roster for Wednesday, July 6. Entries for the Wednesday racing program will close at

1 p.m. EST. Friday, July 1.

“Due to the volume of two-year-olds that we now have racing on Friday’s racing cards, we have moved several of our races to the Wednesday program,” said Kevin Mack, racing secretary. “This will better accommodate our horsemen and provide better racing opportunities for everyone.”

Included on the list of races moved to Wednesday, July 6 is a $10,000 claiming event for pacers, a $12,000 claiming event for pacers, a $15,000 claiming event for pacers, a $20,000-$30,000 claiming event for pacers, a fillies and mares non-winners of two (Indiana Sired three) pari-mutuel races lifetime to be claimed, and all open trots. These races will be added to the existing condition sheet.

Horsemen are encouraged to look over the added races for Wednesday. For a complete list and details of the additional racing opportunities, contact the racing office staff at Hoosier Park.

The 2011 standardbred racing season will come to a close Saturday, July 16 featuring Hoosier Champions Night. The 14-race program will include Indiana Sires Stakes and purses totaling more than $1.2 million. The evening will also be associated with the national harness racing program “Back to the Track” sponsored by the U.S. Trotting Association. Numerous giveaways, promotions, and special events will be included at Hoosier Park to complement the evening’s racing program.
