Big M Pick 5 Wager Debuts Saturday

Harness racing fans will have a new wager to sink their teeth into this weekend

.

Beginning Saturday, July 2, Meadowlands Racetrack will add a Pick 5 Wager starting in the first race. The Pick 5 is a .50 cent minimum wager with a 15 per cent takeout. If nobody selects all five winners in the Pick 5, seventy-five per cent of the net pool will be carried over to the next racing card and 25 per cent will be distributed as a consolation.

"We were one of the first tracks to introduce the wager last year at Monmouth Park and it was very well received, so hopefully the same will hold true at the Meadowlands," said Meadowlands Racetrack Assistant Vice President of Racing Alex Dadoyan. "Starting in the first race, it won't interfere with our popular nightly Pick 4 wager, but should have the ability to generate some nice payoffs for the early part of the card and some occasional carryovers."

With the addition of the Pick 5 wager on Race 1, the Meadowlands will discontinue offering the Pick 3 on the first race.

Meadowlands To Simulcast Ladyship Stake As Part of Saturday Card

The Meadowlands Racetrack will offer the simulcast of the $70,000 Ladyship Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies from Tioga Downs as part of its live card on Saturday, July 2.

Offered on a separate pool basis, the Ladyship will be carded as the third race with a post time of 7:41 p.m.
