Officials with Georgian Downs have informed Trot Insider of some of the festivities that will be occurring this coming Sunday (July 1) for Canada Day.
Georgian will be celebrating Canada Day with live racing starting at 6 p.m.
A total of nine races are scheduled to go forward – last race post time is expected to be at 8:45 p.m. (ET).
Georgian will be distributing 200 red and white cupcakes as part of the celebrations.
There will be a draw for a VIP experience for four, including a buffet dinner, programs, ‘race named in honour,’ a backstretch tour and a $100 Win bet on a race.
There will also be draws for beer merchandise and ball caps
In addition, patrons will get a chance to drive behind two active racehorses via the ‘Wanna Drive’ program.
Fans wishing to take in some fireworks can do so on nearby Kempenfelt Bay – which is a short drive from the track – starting at 10 p.m.
