The National Capital Region Harness Horse Association has announced the details of the third annual Coville Cup, which will be taking place at Rideau Carleton Raceway with a special guest making the trip over for the festivities.

On Sunday, August 1, nine enthusiastic yet inexperienced drivers will be taking centre stage at Rideau in the Coville Cup, which will take place over the course of five races.

Races 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 will be the five dashes in the competition.

NCRHHA Director John MacMillan has stated that he hopes the night will raise close to $10,000 for the Shepherds of Good Hope.

In addition to the Coville Cup, the evening dubbed 'The Night of Champions' will feature 10 memorial races for Ottawa Valley racing pioneers and three "Future Stars' races for amateur drivers.

This year the NCRHHA welcomes famed announcer Frank Salive who has graciously agreed to call the races that evening.

The night will also feature a $20,000 Invitational Pace and a $20,000 Invitational Trot with Rideau Carleton Raceway’s winningest active drivers.
