Lenore Alpert Passes

Lenore Alpert, 83, a well-known individual in harness racing during the last half of the 20th century, passed away on June 10 in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Alpert and her husband, Sidney, were well known at a number of racetracks where her husband’s company, Electronic Race Patrol, provided sound and video for almost a half century at Brandywine Raceway, Dover Downs, Rosecroft Raceway, Laurel Racecourse, Garden State Park and Chicago area harness tracks.

During the 1980s, Lenore and Sidney owned several successful stakes winning pacers, including Stargell Hanover and Commander Bond.

Lenore is survived by Sidney, son Mark (Sharon) and grandchildren Julie and Jennifer Alpert, and Adam (Cassie) and Stacey Rosenthal and great-grandmother of Faith Rosenthal.

Graveside funeral services were held on June 11, at Judean Memorial Gardens, Olney, Maryland.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohev Sholom-The National Synagogue, Silver Spring, Maryland.
