The Raceway at Western Fair District is heading into the homestretch of its live racing season, which will also be its busiest period, as 12 programs of live racing will be featured in a 19-day span.

Horsepeople are reminded that there will be a special afternoon program on Sunday, May 13 starting at 1:15 p.m. and that the Ontario Regional Driver’s Championship (ORDC) will take place on Wednesday, May 16. The ORDC card will offer enhanced purses for the 10-race program. Horsepeople are reminded to check the condition sheet for details.

There will be plenty of racing opportunities in the next three weeks at the London oval, and horsepeople are urged to support the entry box as the London oval looks to end the season on a high note.

This Friday, Western Fair will honour longtime fan favourite Bridge Street as its 2018 Wall of Fame inductee. The 58-time career winner of $676,000 will be on hand Friday night to lead a post parade and be in the winner’s circle for the live induction ceremony.

The countdown is also on for The Raceway’s premier event, the first-ever Camluck Classic Invitational Pace, on Saturday, May 26. The field for the $150,000 event is taking shape and details on some of the expected starters will be released later this week.
