Entering Wednesday, Dave Palone had 15,090 career wins, good for second place in North American harness racing history. Herve Filion holds the all-time record
for victories, with 15,180.
Throughout May, The Meadows Racetrack & Casino – Palone’s home track – is staging a “Guess the Race” contest enabling fans to predict the date and race that will provide Palone with win 15,181. The winner will receive a $181 wagering voucher. Should more than one entrant pick the correct date and race, a drawing will determine the winner.
“Dave’s record-breaker will be a unique moment in harness racing, and we are planning many things to recognize and celebrate it appropriately,” said Mike Jeannot, president of Meadows Racing. “We intend to involve our fans in all aspects of the celebration.”
