Over 200 friends, neighbours, and horse enthusiasts came out to Mac Lilley Farms in Dutton, Ontario to see the latest foals alongside their Moms on Sunday at an Open House co-sponsored by the SBOA and Mac Lilley Farms.

"It was a beautiful sunny Mother's Day, one of the first wonderful summer days after our long cold winter of 2013-2014," reported Ruleen Lilley.

Visitors were asked to choose a name for one of the newborn colts. The kids enjoyed painting horse shoes, while friends and neighbours visited and toured the facility. The South Western Ontario Standardbred Horse Show girls served up hotdogs and drinks.

"It seemed almost therapeutic when people and horses connected," said Lilley. "The older in the crowd would reminisce about the work horses once used on their farms, while the younger where happy to come face-to-face with the elegant animals for the first time."
