The Green Family is saddened to report that stallion Western Hero p,1:51.3 ($182,309) was humanely euthanized today (Thursday, May 11) due to impending health complications.
Western Hero, 23, was a son of the late Western Hanover, out of the mare Leah Almahurst by Abercrombie, and a full brother to Western Ideal, standing in Pennsylvania.
Western Hero produced such notables as St Elmo Hero p,1:49.1s ($793,306), Breakheart Pass p,1:50.2f ($603,382), Western Number p,1:51.1f ($329,107), I Ride Western p,1:50.4f ($319,497), Suprizemeagain p,1:50.2s ($314,147), B My Hero p,1:52 ($254,423), along with several others with earnings totaling $8,664,206.
Western Hero was rescued from the slaughter pen in the fall of 2014 by Green Acquisition Corporation of Canfield, Ohio.
