Last Friday, the I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club presented its Fantastic Friday online handicapping challenge featuring a prize of entry into this year’s World Harness Handicapping Championship hosted at The Meadowlands with an estimated prize pool of $50,000.
The task was to handicap the triactors for race 7 for the three Canadian Standardbred racetracks that raced on Friday, March 27 –- Fraser Downs, The Raceway at Western Fair District and Woodbine Racetrack.
Congratulations to Bob Coole of Guelph, Ontario who selected the winning triactor in Friday’s 7th race at Fraser Downs, worth $377. (2-4-1)
The race winner, Eternal Grace was a 23-1 shot and returned $49.30 for a $2 win ticket. The second place horse was favourite Promising Girl and finishing third was Sweet Reunion. A handful of players selected the Fraser Downs’ triactor but Bob won the tie-breaker by coming closest to estimating the combined handle of the three tracks.
Several players also selected the winning triactors in the 7th race at The Raceway at Western Fair (2-4-7) which resulted in a $49.30 payout and many selected Woodbine’s 7th race tri of 8-2-5 worth $98.10.
The WHHC is scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at The Meadowlands and the winner will receive a cheque in the amount of $20,000 (est)! The top ten finishers will share in the prize money.
In addition to winning entry into the 2015 WHHC, Bob will receive a $500 travel voucher.
