The Meadows Standardbred Owners Association is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2012 MSOA Collegiate Scholarships, for the 2012-13 academic year
. The scholarships are worth a total of $10,500, the highest amount since the program's inception.
In addition to the $5,000 MSOA Scholarship, there will again be a $1,000 Dr. Barry C. Betts Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by LCM Nutraceuticals, and a $2,500 CSC Insurance Options Scholarship. New this year is a $2,000 Trainforthefuture Scholarship, the result of breedings to the stallion donated by Pinnacle Racing.
"We are happy to continue to offer our own MSOA scholarship, and we would like to thank LCM Nutraceuticals, Pinnacle Racing and CSC Insurance for supporting our efforts and supporting these deserving young people," said MSOA President Rich Gillock.
Sons or daughters of an owner, trainer, driver or caretaker that has participated in harness racing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on a regular basis over the past two years preceding application are eligible. At least one parent must be a member in good standing with the MSOA, and the applicant must be at least a senior in high school.
